The House of Representatives adopted House Resolution No. 148 last night, October 5, congratulating and commending the Jesus Is Lord Church Worldwide as it celebrates its 48th founding anniversary on October 10, 2026.
Established in 1978 by then-university instructor Eduardo “Bro. Eddie” C. Villanueva and his late wife, Dr. Adoracion “Sis. Dory” J. Villanueva, from a Bible study fellowship of 15 students, JIL Church has since developed into a global Christ-centered ministry with chapters and outreaches in the National Capital Region (NCR), in all 82 provinces of the Philippines and 82 countries worldwide.
The resolution recognizes JIL Church’s notable contributions to nation-building through its Biblical guidance and counsel, continued advocacy for responsible and ethical governance, and sustained efforts to promote moral renewal and transformation among individuals, families, and communities. It likewise commends the church’s work in education, poverty alleviation, disaster response, and community care through its Jesus Is Lord Colleges Foundation and iCare Compassion Ministries.
The congressional commendation also highlights JIL’s international chapters as refuge for overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and migrants, offering spiritual nourishment, emotional support, and practical assistance in times of difficulty and need.
As it celebrates God’s goodness and faithfulness after almost five decades of establishment, JIL Church will mark its 48th anniversary on October 10, 2026 at Luneta Grandstand, Manila, under the theme “Abba Father,” with its leaders, workers, members, and partners who have carried the church’s mission across the Philippines and the world. #
