An Act Deterring the Continued Proliferation of Immoral Doctrines, Obscene Publications and Exhibitions and Indecent Shows by Increasing the Penalties Therefor, and for Other Purposes

In this modern age where even pornography and exploitation has proliferated even the internet, United Nations Children Emergency Fund (UNICEF) has declared that the Philippines is the top global source of child pornography on their 2017 report.

This bill aims to deter the continued proliferation of immoral doctrines, obscene publications and exhibitions, and indecent shows by increasing penalties.At present, Article 201 of the Revised Penal Code penalizes afine of at least Php6,000 to a fine ranging from Php20,000 to Php200,000.

The proposed bill raises the penalty to both reclusion perpetua and a fine ranging from five hundred thousand (P500,000.00) to one million pesos (P1,000,000.00) will be imposed.
